Studzilla Technology FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Studzilla light gauge steel framing systems and Snap Track technology

What is the Studzilla Framing System?

The Studzilla Framing System is Hexaport's advanced light gauge steel framing solution. It combines Snap Track Technology with precision-engineered components to improve strength, installation speed, and framing accuracy.

How does Snap Track Technology work?

Our Snap Track Technology features grooves in the tracks and studs, allowing the studs to snap into place effortlessly. This eliminates the need for measuring or aligning each stud, saving time and ensuring perfect alignment every time.

Instead of meticulously measuring every 16 inches or 2 feet and carefully positioning each stud, Studzilla's grooved tracks allow studs to effortlessly slide into their designated positions. The top track then snaps into place, securing everything square and level.

What are the benefits of using Studzilla?

Studzilla provides a variety of key benefits:

  • Unmatched strength and durability - Over 70% stronger than generic steel studs, with shear walls up to 400% stronger than wood framing
  • Reduced construction time - What used to take hours now takes minutes through easy assembly and precision engineering
  • Cost savings - Minimizes waste, speeds up installation, and reduces insurance costs
  • Increased accuracy - Snap Track Technology ensures perfect alignment without manual adjustments

Is Studzilla suitable for all types of construction projects?

Yes, the Studzilla Framing System is versatile and can be used in a wide range of construction projects, including:

Residential Buildings

Single-family homes, multi-family units, apartments

Commercial Buildings

Office buildings, retail spaces, warehouses

Industrial Projects

Manufacturing facilities, storage buildings

Its strength and flexibility make it an ideal solution for both small and large-scale developments.

What makes Studzilla different from traditional steel framing?

Traditional steel framing systems often require manual measuring, alignment, and cutting, which can lead to errors and increased labor costs. Studzilla's Snap Track Technology reduces those issues by improving alignment, installation speed, and framing consistency while using materials more efficiently.

How does Studzilla contribute to sustainability in construction?

Studzilla is designed with sustainability in mind:

  • Reduces waste through precise manufacturing and efficient material usage
  • Superior performance means buildings require less maintenance and have a longer lifespan
  • Steel is 100% recyclable, making it an environmentally responsible choice
  • R-30 insulation rating when properly insulated, ensuring energy efficiency

What is the wind rating and fire rating?

Our Studzilla Shear Wall system is wind tested from 200 to 250 mph, making it certified for High-Velocity Hurricane Zones (HVHZ).

It also has a UL 2-hour fire rating with a single layer of 5/8" drywall, providing exceptional fire protection.

The stainless steel construction provides exceptional resistance to mold, mildew, termites, and even lightning strikes. These certifications result in significant reductions in insurance costs for your projects.

Can I get training on the Studzilla system?

Yes! IBS Hexaport International provides:

  • Comprehensive technical training for installation and assembly
  • Factory setup consultation for those interested in manufacturing Studzilla systems
  • Ongoing engineering support and technical assistance

The system is designed for ease of use - even individuals with minimal experience can frame structures more rapidly than professionals using traditional methods.
